Lack of a Skincare Routine

Hey all

I am a bit of a fail when it comes to having a consistent skincare routine. I was medication last year for my skin and was only allowed to use a few skincare items as my skin was very sensitive. Since I wasn't allowed to do much I really eased up on having a routine. Also during this period I was barely wearing any makeup. I didn't wear makeup to uni, I was only wearing makeup to work and going out with friends or Kale. This meant  I wouldn't need to take my makeup off every night and this has made me lazy!

Now I work most days so I am wearing makeup almost daily, makeup free days have become more rare this year. So I can't afford to go to bed without washing my face any day even if I am already falling asleep on the couch. Also I finished my medication six months ago, am now allowed to wax yay! The pimples are now appearing again only occasionally, but still!. If I don't start to have a routine and cleaning my skin than the pimples will come back in full force. I believe that have a new and consistent skincare routine will help me keep my skin clear like the medication did. Also did you know that not taking your makeup up for a whole month will age you 10 years! Let that be your motivation to remove your makeup every night and not skip it once!

I also want to be more consistent with my skincare routine to find the skincare products that work for me. Along with the fact that I feel like I have my life together when I have done a full routine. Does this happen with anyone else?

Priceline Skincare Bag Haul - New Products June 2014 #1

Hey All

So today I was bad and took advantage of the Priceline Skincare Bag. Basically you have to spend a minimum of $65 on certain brands and then you get a free bag full of skincare goodies which is apparently worth over $340. I justify making myself super broke because I am in need of new skincare, all of my current ones are either low or just not interesting me anymore. The bag is on sale until the 22nd of June.

Also Brodie is an enabler! Do not I repeat DO NOT ever go into Priceline with her you will buy everything! I think she is posting her haul tomorrow.

The background for the pictures is also a new purchase, I got new towels today. Oh the fabulous life of moving out. It might sound lame but I had so much fun picking towels with my boyfriend.

Okay now onto what I purchased to receive the bag.

Derma Sukin Daily Hydrating Wash $7.19
Did you know Sukin has a new line of skin care? I didn't! I really need a new cleanser so here hoping I find a good one from everything I purchased today!

Beauty Essentials Makeup Remover Wipes with Cucumber $2.39
I am still on that Makeup Wipe Monday obsession and how can I say no that price!

Puretopia Skin Radiance Moisturising & Soothing Gel Mask $4.00
There was a sale on Puretopia products.... and the price was so low. I also like face masks......

Puretopia Soft & Smooth Hydrating & Skin Plumping Body Lotion $4.00
Impulse, impulse, impulse. This was also cheap!

Simple Kind To Skin Hydrating Light Moisturiser $7.99

Antipodes Anti-Aging Minis - Joyous Protein-Rich Night Replenish Serum and Avocado Pear Nourishing Night Cream $15.99
I really like the brand and this was one of the cheapest products that have to offer at priceline. I want to test other products from this brands before paying such large amounts.

Beauty Essentials Creamy Cleanser $2.99
I am hoping this is a decent cleanser. The price and the Jojoba oil sucked me in.

Beauty Essentials Sunkissed Gradual Tanning Body Lotion Fair to Medium Skin $1.20
This was so cheap that I don't even care if it works or not!

Beauty Essentials Face Scrub $2.99
Look at the picture it looks like it as tested by someone else and won't close! Bit of a fail at choosing the product but I figured I need to scrub my skin a little as it has been months!

Nivea Visage Fragrance Free Facial Cleansing Wipes $4.49
Have not tried these wipes before. Expect a review soon.

Bondi Sands Summer Bronze Instant Tan Light/ Medium Wash Off $14.39

Sample Queen #5 Bioderma Nourishing Cream

Hello Everyone and welcome to sample week!!

How cute is this little sample!
I am very happy to start this very special week with you all, as this is the first feature week I have done on the blog and I think it is just so much fun. What can I say, I just love writing my blog!

I recently tried the Bio Derma Nourishing Cream for Dry to Very Dry Skin. I can't remember which box I got this from but I had two little 8ml tubes of this product so I have been trying it out for a long enough time to decide whether I would like to continue with it. Pesonally I think the 8ml was a great size to get and the little tubes lasted over a week each! I find moisturisers a little goes a long way!

The consistency of the moisturiser is very wet/ Liquid is is not a firm cream and it can be a little messy when squeezing the product out. Though I it's thinnest means the moisturiser is lighter and don't take forever to sink into the skin. I used this as a day time moisturiser although it could easily be used as a night time one as well, although I tend to prefer thicker creams or oils at night time.

I feel that even though this is a moisturiser targeted towards dry skin that it good to use as a sort of primer for makeup, in the sense that when you only use moisturiser to prime your face for foundation then this is a great option. I didn't find that it made my face feel oily later in the day while wearing this foundation.

Would I recommend this moisturiser? Yes I would. Would I repurchase? Now this is the tricky part. I really enjoyed the moisturiser but the cost of this is a lil cray in Australia. I will definitely consider it and when Priceline do their 40% off skincare I can say I am 90% sure I will purchase it then.

Makeup Wipe Monday #14 Simple Kind to Skin Exfoliating Facial Wipes

Hey all

Simple Kind to Skin Exfoliating Facial Wipes are this weeks focus! I have already focused on Simple twice before here and here. These wipes however are completely different to the other two.

They are exfoliating wipes and I believe that they do just that. One side of the makeup wipe is smooth while the other side has small exfoliating groves in the wipe. It's good at removing makeup while also giving a nice smoothness to the skin.

I like to use these a few times a week to make sure my skin is nice and smooth if I don't feel like using my Micheal Todd face mask. I think if your skin is feeling crap and needs a perk up this are really useful, to make your skin as well as foundation look better.  There is nothing worse than dry flaky and bumpy skin making your foundation look bad.

Would I recommend this? Yes! Will I repurchase them? Yes I will. I am more than willing to pay full price for them as well but I'm sure I will stock up when they are one sale!

Makeup Wipe Monday #13 Garnier Refreshing Makeup Wipes Normal to Combination Skin

Oh hai!

This week I am focusing on the Garnier Refreshing Makeup Wipes Normal to Combination Skin. These were on sale when I was grocery shopping a while back and I just had to get them. Garnier recently updated their skincare range with adding new products along with updating the packaging on the old.

The ones I picked up are for normal to combination skin, which I always find it difficult it decide whether the wipes suit section skin types. I think if you have skin issues don't use just makeup wipes! These wipes are the bumpy kind that I like, I feel like they remove makeup better with the bumps. These are moist and stay considerably wet for a long period of time in the packet.

Would I recommend these wipes? Yeah I would, I think they are great quality. Will I repurchase them? Maybe if they are on sale.

Spotlight Sunday #13 Michael Todd True Organics Pumpkin Nutrient -Rich Facial Mask

Hey all

You may remember from one of my haul and feb faves I got a face mask from Michael Todd's last year. The  Pumpkin Nutrient -Rich Facial Mask to be exact.  The one I picked was an exfoliating one as I figured it would make my skin look better after the mask opposed to the usual where it draws out the toxins. I don't own a scrub or any chemical exfoliactors so I used this instead of them.

The product does have the warning not for sensitive skin which I ignored, however my housemate tried this out and she felt like the product was burning her. If you have any fresh or open pimples the product will sting your face. I feel a tiny bit of a burn but it is not an bad one for me, just one that shows that it doing something. It also claims moisturise and nourish which is nice.

The smell is pretty strange in all honesty it smell like meat and tomato sauce sandwiches that I had as a child. Which sounds so weird but it isn't bad and maybe it is something else from my childhood but that is what I think of each time! When you put it on your face it looks like you have used Doritos as your foundation, a super hot look if you ask me!

This product makes my skin look and feel amazing the day after using it, which is why I love it so much. I have even had my boyfriend comment on how good my skin looked after using it, which is a sign of a good product to me.

Would I repurchase this product for sure! I am keen to try more Michael Todd products soon.

New products April 2014 #1

Hey all

This week I recently got some new Clinque products. I went for cult favourites really, I'm sure you have all heard of them.  I had to share anyway I am that excited.

Firstly I got Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm. I have been lusting after this ever since I finished my Antipodes Grapeseed butter Cleanser. This one is talked about a lot in the blog and YouTube world, so was something I just had to try myself. I recently have felt lost with my skin care routine as my skin is slowly becoming more like it's normal self after treatment (minus the acne, for now). It can feel like I am not taking care of it properly do I am excited to have a new high end product to motivate me with taking better care of my skin.

The other talked about product I picked up is the Bottom Lash Mascara. I'm awful with putting mascara on my bottom lashes and when I try I don't think it looks any good, I'm hope this mascara will make me a pro while giving my eyes an extra pop. This isn't an essential product to anyone's makeup collection but I am worth it, right?

I also got two samples while I was there and they are the clarifying lotion and the liquid facial soap. I haven't heard that much about either of these products. Only that my mother raves about the lotion. Looking forward to trying them out and letting you know how they are.

New Products February 2014

Hey all!
It shouldn't surprise you that I have been shopping lately. I can't seem to stop myself! This were all purchases in February the post is just going up a little later than I expected!

Garnier Micellar  Cleansing Water
This is meant to be a dupe for Bio Derma. I figured I should try it since I love Bio Derma, just not the price tag! I saw this posted on a blog from the UK I think and I was so excited that it came out so quickly in Australia! So when I saw the products in Priceline I had to buy it even though my bank account was begging me not to! I plan to write a review or comparison soon.

Napoleon Perdis Set Palette and Gloss
I got this at Target and it was $14.00 on sale. It was so cheap that I couldn't say no to it. It has 2 blushes, 4 eye shadows, 4 lip colours and come with a separate plumping lip gloss. So far the eye shadows have been amazing quality and the blushes have been extremly pigmented. The plumping lip gloss does sting but I haven't used a plumping product before so I think that would be expected. Overall so far I am very happy with this purchase.

I also made a Kiss and Makeup NY purchase which I got two items

Kiehl's Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution
This is a product that has been on my wish list for years! I don't have dark spots like the names says but I have acne scares and this products has reviews saying it works wonders for those scars. Most of 2013 I was on skin medication and got my acne to clear up, so as a reward for going through the treatment I got this serum.

Tweezerman Stainless Steel Slant Tweezers in Pink
I don't have a picture for these because surprise surprise I have already misplaced them! These are just a good pair of tweezers which I was desperately needed. I am a fan of doing my eyebrows regularly as mine are hard to manage if I don't do them every few days. So a splurge for a good brand was needed.

Spotlight Sunday #9 Certified Organic ROSE HIP OIL

You may know this but I adore the Sukin brand. It's organic and Australian, what more could an Aussie girl want? I have been using the Sukin rosehip oil for months now. It was featured in my chemist warehouse and cotton on haul where I got it on sale!

I have mainly been using the rosehip oil at night time, it says to put about 2 to 3 drops on your face. However I put so much more than that on my face. As you know I am currently on medication for my skin and it dries it out. That is why I have been putting on a heap of the oil nightly. It helps with keep my skin hydrated and I swear by it. I also believe that is helping take away the redness in my skin. I can't be 100% sure about this as once again the medication. Although my friend Maddy said in one of her post how she believes rosehip oil helps with balancing skin tone. (just ignore where she thinks trilogy is better than Sukin :p). So The fact one of my friends believes that it is working for them encourages me to believe that it is the oil that is doing wonders for my skin. If I am feeling extra dry I will put a serum on underneath also but I think just oil would be fine for most skin types.

You can use this with your moisturizer or just the oil by itself. I will use as just an oil at night time and if I use it during the day I will add just a few drops of it to my moisturizer. I will only wear the oil on my face during the day if I am not wearing makeup as it does take a while to sink in which makes it perfect for night time.

Some of the great features are Australian owned, 100% carbon neutral, 100% vegan, no animal testing and preservative  free.

Some people don't like the smell of this but it grows on you. My boyfriend says it smell play dough.

Overall just buy this product! You will not regret it!

Spotlight Sunday #11 Antipodes Grapeseed Butter Cleanser

I got this cleanser months ago off ebay at reduced price, ($12 + $6.95 P.P, $18.95). I had not heard anything about the brand when I purchased the cleanser but I had that week purchases my friend Maddy their eye cream, so I wanted to try the brand myself. I am so glad I purchased this that as I love it and believe it has saved my skin this year. It shouldn't be a surprise to anyone that I have dry skin and this cleanser is targeted towards dry or mature skin.

I will either just put it straight on my face or rub it beteween my hands until it forms an oil. Then I will massage it into my face until I feel my face is clean. It is difficult to get off so a wash washer ( flannel) is need or a lot of water. I'm not going to lie some days I will keep a bit of the residue on my face as it feels so moisturiserimg. I think this was a perfect choice of cleanser for me while I was on the medication. The smell of the product is very natural and nature like so if you don't like those smell it may be the best choice but the smell does grow on you and you begin to love it.

Now would I repurchase it right now no as I am broke but in the future I would love to. It is expensive but it is worth it, so if you want to spend more on cleanser to get value and quality I think this would be a great choice.

Makeup Wipe Monday #6 Biore- Daily Deep Pore Cleansing Wipes

You might have guessed by the title but this Make up Wipe Monday post is featuring the Biore- Daily Deep Pore Cleansing Wipes. I really like this brand and had already tried the sample size packs before. However if you use the sample size packs and they are in green packaging they are over a year old. They came out with new packaging last year so please keep that in mind if you by the wipes in the green packaging they are older than the white packaging.

These wipes are the cleansing ones from the brand so they are a more harsh feeling. They are made to cleanse the skin not just remove make up. I don't believe they are the best for removing the make up. The brand has another wipes which is more focused on removing make up.

The wipes themselves have bumps on them which I am a fan of. I think that if you are going to be too lazy to cleanse your skin before you to go to sleep this would be an option that you can consider.

They are chemical smelling wipes which I am not a fan of. I have been trying to use more organic products and a product that just reminds me of chemicals is something that I want on face!

Makeup Wipe Monday #3

I just want to start with saying how hyped up these make up wipes are. I think it is hard to watch an empties video on YouTube without seeing them pop up. I really like the brand simple and have blogged about them before (make up remover) so I was excited to try the wipes.
These are just flat wipes which is not my favourite but they are a thick material which makes up for that. They are reasonably moist and I would go as far to say that they take off a full face of make up. There is a slight scent to them but it's not a fragrance which is good for sensitive skin. Simple aim to be usable  for sensitive skin and I agree these wipes don't Irritate my skin at all.

Would I buy them again? Yes I would. However for every time I need make up wipes as these are about $7 for a pack of 25. Which isn't that expensive however for a poor uni student it's on the pricier side of wipes. However Simple is always on sale somewhere.

Spotlight Sunday #7 Organi Organic Honey Peel

It is almost gone but you can slightly see it is a gel.

So if you have been reading my blog you know I am currently on medication that dries out my skin. This product is amazing at getting rid of dry skin. You literally just rub the gel into your skin and you feel the dead skin forming into balls. It sounds so gross but your skin feels so much softer and smoother after. I like to do this at least once a week and so does my boyfriend! I love doing this before a big night out as your make up applies and looks a lot better. It can also be used as a slight spot treatment as it helps to get rid of dryness on break outs. It also claims to hypo-allergenic and I'm down with that.

The only negatives about this product is this the price and availability. I paid $60 for this product but that was on sale while my sister (who also loves it!) paid almost double  at over $100. Also I have never been one to pay that much on skincare but I just love it and it is almost gone. There is a high chance of me buying this product again.

This there a skin peel you like?

Priceline Haul! 40% off Skincare Sale

So there was the sale at Priceline....
I was failed pretty hard at controlling myself. I was planning a maximum of $50 I spent almost $70.

This is a picture of the complete collection.

Sukin Antioxidant Eye Serum:
I love the Sukin brand they are Australian and Organic so is a brand one I want to use more of. The eye serum is something I really wanted to try as my Medication is making me get little lines under my eyes so an eye cream and serum I feel will Hydrate and make under my eyes hot look so horrid. The price was originally $19.99 and I got it for $11.99.

Burt's Bees Intense Hydration Eye Cream:
Once again i got this eye cream because I have been worried about under my eyes. Burt's Bees is also a natural brand which is something that has been interesting me lately. 99% of the cream is natural which
a go since it was reduced from $39.99 to 23.99. I love me a bargain.  If you look in the picture it comes out like piped icing or cream! My friend Maddy Recommended this to me also.

Hydraluron Moisture Booster
There is been a lot of positive reviews and hype about this product. Once again I got this because of my dry skin and Thought it would be good to to help keep it hydrated while I am on my drying out medication. I am really excited to try this and maybe some of the other products from the brand if I think they are as good the hype.

Hydratherapy Replenishing Eye Cream
This eye cream I have never heard anything about it really an impulse buy. I saw the price online and decided when I went in I had to have it. I am hoping this is a reasonable eye cream however it doesn't bother me if it isn't the best as I am happy to just try it. I paid about $4 for this so I am interested in if their is any results.

Rosken Skin Repair High Potency Vitamin E Cream
I wanted to get this as Vitamin E is amazing for your skin and is good for healing skin. I am thinking of using this on my face and body to help with stretch marks, dry patches and scares. My father last year got some pretty serious burns and Vitamin E creams was a huge part of the healing process.

Swisspers Cucumber 5 refreshing facial Cleansing Wipes
I am always looking for make up wipes, These were .89 cents so I couldn't say no!

Yes To Cucumbers Facial Towelettes
I have never tried these wipes but they have had hype on YouTube for a while now so I thought I would give them a try so I can review them for you!
