Spotlight Sunday #17 Frank Coffee Scrub

Hey all

If you read or watched my Top 13 Products of 2013 then you would know that I am a fan of Frank Coffee Scrub. It is the best body scrub that I have ever used! It is an Australian Brand which is awesome as I love supporting Australian brands. The website is the only  you can get your hands on some and their Instagram is one of my favourites to follow.

The original scrub

The scrub smell exactly like coffee which I love and it can pep you up a little in the morning during your shower. There is also the Coconut & Grapeseed version and OMG this is the best smelling thing in the world! I love scrub because it actually scrubs your skin instead on just becomes a body wash! It can be harsh on your skin while still being gentle. Your skin feels really soft after you showered. It also has a slight residue after the shower which is moisturising, which I needs comes from the oils that are in scrub.

The scrub also claims to help get rid of cellulite and stretch marks, I'm completely fine with them going away! I'm not 100% sold whether it makes a heap of a difference in regarding stretch marks but I feel like I can see a little improvement.

Frank will repost customers pictures and people seem to put this on their face too. I personally think that this scrub is too harsh for your face and wouldn't recommend it. I think that is what makes it so good for your body because it made for your body which can take a lot more than your face can.

Would I recommend it? Yes I have already purchased this as gifts for friends! They may or may not have beauty blog of their own ;). Will I repurchase this? Yes I already have because it is the best scrub ever.

Spotlight Sunday #16 Compeed Total Care Invisible

Hey all!

(Looking hot with it on my lips lol)

Today I am focusing on a random beauty related product the Compeed Total Care Invisible. This is made put on top of cold sores. It is literally like putting a sticker on your lip. The idea behind it is that with the sticker on, no air or bacteria can get to the cold sore so it will start to go away quicker. Also you can still apply makeup over the sticker so it can really go undetected, or at least not be completely noticeable.

In March I had a cold sore the day before my Graduation and I found that this made it go away practically over night. It made the cold sore barely visible for my graduations photos! I literally just put this on before I went to sleep, it was on all night and it made a lot of difference. They are barely noticeable so I even wore one to work a few times. Although if you plan on wearing it for a long time you have to be careful when you are eating or drinking to not move it.

The pack comes with a mirror so you can apply them anywhere and anytime. Although they can be slightly tricky to get on and sometimes my first try failed but then you just learn from what you did wrong and try again.

Would I recommend this? Yes. Will I repurchase it? Yes I will because nobody has time for cold sores!

Spotlight Sunday #15 Bourjois Flower Perfection Translucent Smoothing Primer

Hey Pretties!

While I was in China I purchased the Bourjois Flower Perfection Translucent Smoothing Primer, haul here. It was recommended to me by my lovely friend Brodie. This is a balmy primer that comes in a tiny tub that you use your fingers to apply to the face.

The Primer is really moisturising and works well at giving you a smooth base. When I was looking at the primer at the counter in China the girl put it on my hand and it made the little lines on hand seem to disappear, she spoke no English so I think that is what she was trying to tell me! I don't think it would work the same for wrinkles but I think for dehydrated skin it works wonders. I like to use this for special occasions because I don't want to waste it! I think it is a good staple to have in anyone's collection as it good at making the perfect base.

An issue I have with this Primer is the price! A little doesn't go a long way with this primer mainly because the tub it comes in is super small! I wish the tub was bigger! You can get the primer cheaper on Asos if you don't want to pay the silly price that Australian retailers charge! I don't use this primer everyday because I think it is too expensive for everyday!

Would I recommend this? Yes! Will I repurchase? Yes! I love it!

Spotlight Sunday #14 Kit Gel Nail Polish Set

Hey

If you watched my recent favourites than you would know that I got a gel nail polish kit for Christmas from my sister. Mine is from Kit Cosmetics and I purchased the extra nail polished from Mecca. You can find it here, here or here. Each nail polish is $15 which is the same price as their ordinary nail polishes. The  machine itself is $69.95, which cheaper than some of the ones available at Priceline.

The machine is a single nail one which you can twist around to use on your toenails. The light can go on for 10, 20 or 30 seconds. I use the 30 seconds setting and the nail polish is completely dry after the 30 seconds. The machine uses a USB port for power, so computer or phone charger to make it work. It also comes with a nail polish remover, foil and cotton to be able to remove the gel polish when you want it removed.

The process of using the kit is extremely fast and mess free. I love it as it means no wrecked nails because your nails are wet. One coat is only needed for full colour from the polishes also, however to make it last longer I would recommend putting on two coats. The last power is pretty good with gel nail polish also. My finger nails lasted a few days, only short as being a check out chick kind of chips your nails. My toenails have been on for a couple of weeks and no chips.

Would I recommend this gel polish set? Yes I would highly recommend this one in particular, although I think any gel polish kit should be a staple in any girls collection.

Spotlight Sunday #13 Michael Todd True Organics Pumpkin Nutrient -Rich Facial Mask

Hey all

You may remember from one of my haul and feb faves I got a face mask from Michael Todd's last year. The  Pumpkin Nutrient -Rich Facial Mask to be exact.  The one I picked was an exfoliating one as I figured it would make my skin look better after the mask opposed to the usual where it draws out the toxins. I don't own a scrub or any chemical exfoliactors so I used this instead of them.

The product does have the warning not for sensitive skin which I ignored, however my housemate tried this out and she felt like the product was burning her. If you have any fresh or open pimples the product will sting your face. I feel a tiny bit of a burn but it is not an bad one for me, just one that shows that it doing something. It also claims moisturise and nourish which is nice.

The smell is pretty strange in all honesty it smell like meat and tomato sauce sandwiches that I had as a child. Which sounds so weird but it isn't bad and maybe it is something else from my childhood but that is what I think of each time! When you put it on your face it looks like you have used Doritos as your foundation, a super hot look if you ask me!

This product makes my skin look and feel amazing the day after using it, which is why I love it so much. I have even had my boyfriend comment on how good my skin looked after using it, which is a sign of a good product to me.

Would I repurchase this product for sure! I am keen to try more Michael Todd products soon.

Spotlight Sunday #12 Maybelline Express Remover

Hey all,

This weeks spotlight product is dedicated to my beautiful sister Megan, who bought the Maybelline Express Remover for me! I have seen nail polish removers before on YouTube but had never actually seen them in Australia. It is as simple as it sounds and oh boy do I love the simplicity of it. This is a true creation for the lazy girl! Maybe the time poor too.

You literally put your fingers in the sponged area and twirl your finger around for about two second and your nail polish will be gone. It does take a couple of seconds extra for glitter or black, but I have found it is only a few seconds longer. It is a lot easier than the old method of removing nail polish and takes dramatically less time. It is also very portable as it is just a container and lid, everything is all together. I plan to take this away with me on my next holiday.

Will I repurchase this product again? Yes, of course, it is perfect for when your nails are chipped but you don't have enough time to take them all off with cotton balls/pads. It basically encourages me to be lazy and leave things to the last minute. Which I am okay with.

Spotlight Sunday #9 Certified Organic ROSE HIP OIL

You may know this but I adore the Sukin brand. It's organic and Australian, what more could an Aussie girl want? I have been using the Sukin rosehip oil for months now. It was featured in my chemist warehouse and cotton on haul where I got it on sale!

I have mainly been using the rosehip oil at night time, it says to put about 2 to 3 drops on your face. However I put so much more than that on my face. As you know I am currently on medication for my skin and it dries it out. That is why I have been putting on a heap of the oil nightly. It helps with keep my skin hydrated and I swear by it. I also believe that is helping take away the redness in my skin. I can't be 100% sure about this as once again the medication. Although my friend Maddy said in one of her post how she believes rosehip oil helps with balancing skin tone. (just ignore where she thinks trilogy is better than Sukin :p). So The fact one of my friends believes that it is working for them encourages me to believe that it is the oil that is doing wonders for my skin. If I am feeling extra dry I will put a serum on underneath also but I think just oil would be fine for most skin types.

You can use this with your moisturizer or just the oil by itself. I will use as just an oil at night time and if I use it during the day I will add just a few drops of it to my moisturizer. I will only wear the oil on my face during the day if I am not wearing makeup as it does take a while to sink in which makes it perfect for night time.

Some of the great features are Australian owned, 100% carbon neutral, 100% vegan, no animal testing and preservative  free.

Some people don't like the smell of this but it grows on you. My boyfriend says it smell play dough.

Overall just buy this product! You will not regret it!

Spotlight Sunday #11 Antipodes Grapeseed Butter Cleanser

I got this cleanser months ago off ebay at reduced price, ($12 + $6.95 P.P, $18.95). I had not heard anything about the brand when I purchased the cleanser but I had that week purchases my friend Maddy their eye cream, so I wanted to try the brand myself. I am so glad I purchased this that as I love it and believe it has saved my skin this year. It shouldn't be a surprise to anyone that I have dry skin and this cleanser is targeted towards dry or mature skin.

I will either just put it straight on my face or rub it beteween my hands until it forms an oil. Then I will massage it into my face until I feel my face is clean. It is difficult to get off so a wash washer ( flannel) is need or a lot of water. I'm not going to lie some days I will keep a bit of the residue on my face as it feels so moisturiserimg. I think this was a perfect choice of cleanser for me while I was on the medication. The smell of the product is very natural and nature like so if you don't like those smell it may be the best choice but the smell does grow on you and you begin to love it.

Now would I repurchase it right now no as I am broke but in the future I would love to. It is expensive but it is worth it, so if you want to spend more on cleanser to get value and quality I think this would be a great choice.

Spotlight Sunday #10 Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation

Hey lovelies
I finished my Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation. I really enjoyed the foundation. It has slight shimmer/ glitter particles. Which aren't very noticeable on your face but I would put the foundation on the back of my hand before I used a brush. The foundation on my hands when in the light would sparkle, like Edward Cullen lol.

I would say that this is a light to medium foundation. It would cover my pimples pretty well but I would still need concealer on blemishes and on those annoying dark circles. However I really enjoyed the look of skin when wearing this foundation. I think the shimmer does make your face glow slightly which is a nice effect when you are feeling blah.

I would highly recommend it and I plan on repurchasing this product also.

Spotlight Sunday #8 Hydraluron

Hey lovelies

I'm back again with another review for you. Today's spotlight product is the Hydraluron which I recently Hauled. I haven't had it that long yes, but I am already amazed about the fast results of this product! It is definitely worth the hype which it has received. I have used it on my face a few times which I felt my skin feel soft and hydrated not something too different from my lovely rosehip oil. I also tried this product on my hand and this is where I saw unbelievably amazing results. I have dermatitis on my right hand not as gross as it sounds. However my hand was looking bright red, bumpy, flakey and like it was going to scab up. So I decided to used it on my hand one night when I was putting it on my face. The next day my hand actually didn't look like I had dermatitis at all, my hand had completely gone back to a normal colour and was not scabbing at all. I still had some bumps but they are slowly going to away more each night I use this. I wish I had taken a picture of my hand the night before I first tried it on my hand I just wasn't expecting such amazing results. So if your skin is seriously lacking hydration and is really dry please try this. It can be used by itself or under moisturiser. I am seriously loving this product right now. I haven't decided if it will be a staple in my facial routine but I know that I will always keep this on hand for when any of my skin is dry.

P.S If you are one drying medication like me you will love this so much as it works fast and helps your skin if you accidentally skip one night/day of moisturising!

Spotlight Sunday #7 Organi Organic Honey Peel

It is almost gone but you can slightly see it is a gel.

So if you have been reading my blog you know I am currently on medication that dries out my skin. This product is amazing at getting rid of dry skin. You literally just rub the gel into your skin and you feel the dead skin forming into balls. It sounds so gross but your skin feels so much softer and smoother after. I like to do this at least once a week and so does my boyfriend! I love doing this before a big night out as your make up applies and looks a lot better. It can also be used as a slight spot treatment as it helps to get rid of dryness on break outs. It also claims to hypo-allergenic and I'm down with that.

The only negatives about this product is this the price and availability. I paid $60 for this product but that was on sale while my sister (who also loves it!) paid almost double  at over $100. Also I have never been one to pay that much on skincare but I just love it and it is almost gone. There is a high chance of me buying this product again.

This there a skin peel you like?

19th May 2013- Sunday Spotlight 6 Models Prefer Professional Ultra Lipgloss Pencil

Models Prefer Professional Ultra Lip gloss Pencil I own the one in Crowd Pleaser and I love it. It’s hot pink and super pigmented. The lasting power is pretty good. It will last over an hour. I still pack it with me when I go out but you don’t need to touch it up that often. I am just in love with the colour even though it is getting cooler in Australia I am very drawn to wearing this bright lip!

image
The product was in my Priceline beauty haul.
Swatch is here.
Of course because I am telling you how much I love it I can’t find it!

12th May 2013- Sunday Spotlight #5 Benefit They’re Real

I took a picture with one eye having it on and other not I think the picture speaks for itself!

Okay so my skin looks gross in the picture but if you look at the lashes. I love the way my lashes look in this picture. The only bad thing about Benefit They’re Real is that it can be a pain to take off.

24th March 2013- Sunday Spotlight #4 Revlon Colour Stay Mineral Finishing Powder

My current favourite powder highlighter is the Revlon Colour Stay Mineral Finishing Powder in 010 Brighten. I had stopped using this product as I found it was getting hard to use. It randomly stopped putting as much product on my brush so it got pushed aside for other highlighters. Although recently it has been the one I am pulling out to use. It is a pinky pearl colour which I like on my pale skin. I think it is a very pretty look and gives a nice touch of highlight. I know use a small blush brush to apply this or my fingers bigger brushes do not get much product of the bakes surfaced. I used this for natural daily looks and even more dramatic night looks. It is a long lasting product I have had it months and it looks like it has barely been touched so no need to be thinking about re-purchasing but I think I would when in the very far away future when I run out.

17th March 2013- Sunday Spotligh #3 Rimmel Stay Matte Powder

I have been using the Rimmel Stay Matte powder ever since I ran out of my Australis Fresh and Flawless Powder. I think Both are amazing products. The Stay Matte powder I own is the Transparent and it is my first ever ever transparent powder. I like that I don’t have to worry whether it will be make my skin look cakey or not match my foundation. This powder is made for oily skin but it works well for dry too. I tried this because one of my friends loves it and I am glad I did thanks Maddy. This is a product I will be re-purchasing. Which will be soon since I hit pan which you can see in the picture below!

10th March 2013- Sunday Spotlight #2 NYX Blush Dusty Rose

Sunday Spotlight: NYX Blush

So this month my favourite blush has been the NYX blush in Dusty Rose. It is one I ordered online and I don’t think is available in Australia. It has been the blush I have been drawn to the most which is saying a lot since I have so many blushes. The name says it all really dusty rose. I have heard a few beauty gurus on YouTube which was why I picked that colour to order. I the colour is subtle enough for every day wear and but can be worn with a bold eye or lip. I don’t think I could rave about this product enough I think it will be something I will give to friends. Also it’s not tested on animals which is awesome.

24th February 2013- Sunday Spotlight #1 Simple Kind To Eyes

Sunday Spotlight: Simple Kind To Eyes

Simple eye make up remover
Purchased the a travel version of the simple Kind To Eyes  eye make up remover. Not long after first using the remover I purchased the full size of the make up remover as the product does a great job at removing make up waterproof and red lips that stain. The remover removes all traces of any make up. It is a product I plan to repurchases again and again. So I think that shows how great I think the product is.
It is made for sensitive skin and eyes so it doesn't cause break outs or hurt your eyes. I have annoyingly sensitive eyes and this product works for them.
